Karen Lavery named 2009-2010 Rotarian of the Year
Each year, members of the Bluffton Rotary elect a Rotarian of the Year. Members can vote for any other member via a secret ballot election conducted toward the end of the Rotary year. The member receiving the most votes is elected Rotarian of the Year and receives the designation at Charter Night.

While in her first year off the Board in 2009-2010, Karen prepared for her new position of District Secretary. During the year, she attended PETS (President Elect Training) as well as the annual District Conference. She chaired not only the Salvation Army Christmas bell ringing for our club but also our largest event of the year, the Bluffton Village Festival. In addition, Karen was a team leader for "Heel to Toe" (polio awareness walk,) and she helped organize club events such as the Christmas Party and Charter Night.
