NEXT MEETING: THIS WEDNESDAY 5-5
Our next club meeting is this Wednesday, May 5th, at 7:30am. This meeting will be IN-PERSON at the Bluffton Rotary Building. For those members of the club who can't join us in person, please log onto Facebook and go to the Bluffton Rotary Club Facebook Page and tune into the live Facebook stream of the meeting.

Our speaker will be Mary Doyle, Executive Director of Memory Matters.

Mary Hatfield Doyle, RN, BSN, MA, has over 20 years of combined experience in healthcare, organizational development and non-profit leadership. Her academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Maine, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Maine, and a master’s degree in Organizational Development from Emerson College in Boston. Mary also received her certification as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher through the University of California Medical School Center for Mindfulness. Before joining Memory Matters as the Executive Director, Mary served as Director of Operations and Organizational Development for the Dempsey Cancer Center at Central Maine Medical Center. She and her husband relocated to Bluffton in early 2020 to escape the Maine winters and be closer to family.  She couldn’t be happier to experience all the low country has to offer.  She enjoys running, kayaking, swimming, and tennis.

RECAP: ARBOR DAY PLANTING PROJECT
A crew of our club members volunteereed their time and pitched in to do some landscaping and planting around the Field of Dreams Pavilion, Oscar Frazier Park, for Arbor Day last Friday. The town of Bluffton also had an Arbor Day presentation that morning, and Mayor Lisa Sulka spoke at the presentation. Mayor Sulka recognized the long-term partnership with the Bluffton Rotary Club during her speech, noting the Club’s contributions of the Rotary Community Center and improvements to the park over the years, including our own Arbor Day project held the same morning.
A special thank you to Southern Marsh Nursery for providing us with some very favorable pricing for the plants, and to Club Service Projects Director, Jim Evans, for arranging this volunteer opportunity!
RECAP: 4-28 MEETING
At our last meeting, Tamela Fleetwood Maxim spoke about writing and illustrating her book entitled: Nellie Jelly and the Jelly Well and the process to get her book published. She also read the book to the club.
Check out Bluffton Rotary's Facebook Page to watch a recorded video of the meeting and her reading.
Thank you to Tamela for reminding us what it means to be a child and how the simple yet valuable philosophy of playing nice and getting along with others is one we can all embrace.

BOOK DONATIONS NEEDED FOR FREE LITTLE LIBRARIES
We still need book donations for the two Little Free Libraries our club maintains.
Please consider donating any children's or adult books so we can keep both little libraries fully stocked.
