SEPTEMBER 8TH CLUB MEETING
Our club meeting on Wednesday, September 8th is canceled. We will resume on September 15th with our guest being District Governor Paul Walter.
RECAP: WEDNESDAY MEETING, SEPTEMBER 1ST
As manager of Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head and owner of Spartina Marine Education Charters, Amber Kuehn has experienced the beauty of the Lowcountry from the perspective of a marine biologist, a scuba instructor and dive boat captain.
She shared some interesting statistics about turtle nesting on Hilton Head Island, along with fascinating stories about Myrtle and Stumpy, two of the logger head turtles that return year-after-year to lay their eggs. Additionally, she explained the purpose behind some of the new ordinances passed that protect sea turtles, including how lights, holes and trash on the beach create obstacles for turtles to nest and for hatchlings to make it to the sea. ROTARIANS AT WORK IN THE COMMUNITY
Rotarians at Work: As Rotarians we do more outside the usual BRC projects within our community and would like to showcase that here in our bulletin. Pictures that you would like to share of church charitable/giving events, supporting other nonprofits, helping a neighbor in need...etc. - Please text or email photos with a brief description to Shawn Marlowe (817-988-9461); shawn.marlowe@yahoo.com.
BOOK DONATIONS NEEDED FOR FREE LITTLE LIBRARIES
We still need book donations for the two Little Free Libraries our club maintains.
