NEXT MEETING: FEBRUARY 24th
NO MEETING THIS WEEK! Our next club meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, at 7:30am. THIS MEETING WILL BE ON ZOOM ONLY. We will send the Zoom link closer to the meeting date. In an abundance of caution, the board opted to cancel the in-person portion of our next meetings because of the rising cases of COVID-19, but we will still meet as a club on Zoom.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ON ZOOM!
MEMBER SPOTLIGHT VIDEO: FEATURING JOHN ANDERSON--CHECK OUT THE VIDEO ON FACEBOOK
We've started a new club member video appreciation series called: Member Spotlight. Our first appreciation and spotlight video recognized John Anderson for all his work for the club and the community over the years. In the video, Joanie Iaco, club president, interviewed John so we can get to know him a little better, and she thanked him for his service. The video is on the club's Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/blufftonrotary

RECAP: FEBRUARY 10th MEETING
At our last club meeting, we welcomed several potential new members to our meeting on Zoom. We are so thankful for our long-time club members
and all the new folks who are interested in Rotary and supporting our community. A Zoom meeting screen shot is below.
Also, during the meeting we discussed the plan for future club meetings. Starting in April, we will go back to four meetings a month--a meeting every Wednesday morning--and the meetings will be in-person and virtual on Zoom.
We had an update about the budget from Carol Branch--due to Covid-19 restrictions, the club is not spending a lot of money. We have some extra money ($10K) in our operations budget that as a club, we are thinking about moving to our contributions budget so that we can give it out to the community this year. Again, it was brought up to the club as an option for this surplus.
Steve Miller gave us an update about the Rotary Club Foundation and reported that our club has met it's foundation goal for the year and our club is the 5th club in the district in annual foundation fund giving this year!
We heard about Jim Evens--he is working with Bluffton schools to find a safe way to have our Happy Feet event. We will update the club when we have more information; however, the hope is that we can schedule it for mid-March.
A call went out to all club members for any fundraising ideas you may have--please share them with the Board or let Joanie know if you have an idea for a fundraising activity. We are looking for some new and creative ideas!
We also need dontations of books for the Free Little Libraries. We can use children and adult books to replenish the little libraries.
Deborah Burt let us know that the International Water Project is complete. The next step is the commissioning ceremony, but it was postponed due to a Covid-19 spike near the village. Once the ceremony is rescheduled--she will send the club an email with the Zoom link so we can participate remotely.
***We've had some news about a long-time club member: John Miller. He has an upcoming surgery--please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.***

Local non-profits need our support more than ever as they provide their needed services during this challenging time. - and the projects are always a pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning.
