Our speaker on April 17 was Dr. Carl Martin, Jr., Executive Director of Real Champions. A gritty, determined and undersized defensive back he played on Clemson's 1981 National Championship football team. After graduating from Clemson he earned Master's and Doctor of Divinity Degree and became a life coach. Realizing the needs of our most vulnerable children he developed a local mentoring program and then developed a paid mentoring program to catch at-risk children earlier, and to go deeper into their lives and stay connected to them longer to help them learn and grow. "we don't bring a program, we bring a person."
