President of Bluffton Self Help's Board of Directors, Peter Bromley, visited the club on Wednesday, January 19th to give us an update on the new Bluffton Self Help building to be constructed on a lot owned by the town of Bluffton on May River Rd.

Bluffton Self Help was founded in 1987 by Ida Martin and since then, has come to the aid of over 22,000 individuals via food, clothing and or emergency assistance. Currently housed in a 1,000 sq. ft. building, the non-profit organization is working toward meeting their goal of $770,000 to build a much needed new facility. Currently a United Way agency, funding for the new building will come in the form of donations, reserves and 15% in grants. The goal amount also includes an endowment fund.
