Dr. Andrew Binamira of Heritage Medical Partners came to the club on Wednesday, April 13 to talk about health maintenance and to outline questions we should ask our doctors during our next physicals.

Dr. Binamira spoke about everything from nutrition to colonoscopies. Being proactive about our health is key and we all need to perform self exams - testicular, breast and skin.

In addition, Dr. Binamira touched on dental checkups, vaccines, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, prostate cancer screenings and mammograms.

Everyone should schedule a colonoscopy at age 50, should get a tetanus shot every ten years and a shingles vaccine at 60 years of age. Pneumonia shots should also be give to adults prior to age 65 and then every five years there after.

Heritage Medical Partners has offices in Bluffton and Hilton Head.
